Kenneth W. Bleakley
Ken Bleakley is President of FONEMED, LLC and an international authority on
communications and information technology. Ken is a frequent keynote speaker at
international events such as the Informatics 2000 Initiative of the Inter-American
Development Bank, the Inter@ctive Forum of the International Telecommunication Union and
World Health Organization and Caribbean/Latin American Action, where he is also leader of
their Committee on Communications and Information Technology. He heads Americas Healthnet
which, in cooperation with the Pan American Health Organization, is seeking to fulfill the
Summit of the Americas mandate to expand access to health care through informatics.
Prior to his association with FONEMED, Bleakley was president and CEO of First Personal
Communications, Inc. (now a wholly owned subsidiary of FONEMED, LLC). He provided
strategic coordination and substantive input to FPC/Experts Abroad in its mission of
serving leading organizations in the telecommunications and information technology
industry. He was also CEO of Comunicaciones Magazine, the authoritative Spanish
language publication on communications and informatics technology.
Previously Mr. Bleakley was President Bush's Senior Deputy U.S. Coordinator for
International Communications and Information Policy. His distinguished career as a U.S.
Foreign Service Officer included direction of one of the Government's largest overseas
diplomatic missions and of extensive global programs as well as the presidency of the
American Foreign Service Association and awards from the Secretaries of State and of
Defense. Mr. Bleakley is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service
and holds a Masters Degree in Management Information Technology from the American
University. He is a graduate of the National Defense University's Capstone Program for
general and flag officers and of the US Foreign Service Institute Senior Seminar for
International Management.
Ken resides in Miami with his wife, Jane. Their two daughters and their
families live in Florida. |
