Fonemed's CEO is Recognized Among a Group of Top Canadian Entrepreneurs in 2016 - Fonemed

(St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, 6 July 2016) – Fonemed’s CEO is recognized among a group of impressive  Atlantic entrepreneurs by EY for their financial performance, vision, leadership, personal integrity and entrepreneurial spirit.

Fonemed’s Chief Executive Officer Charlene Brophy has been named as a finalist by Ernst & Young as one of the most disruptive and innovate entrepreneurs of 2016. The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards or EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, sponsored by Ernst & Young, is considered the world’s most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs. The award honors outstanding business leaders who have turned their unique business vision into a successful reality

EY has recognized Charlene’s pivotal role in building an innovative, patient-centered platform incorporating technology and disease-specific protocols to provide 24/7 Teletriage support, remote biometric monitoring, and behavioral health counseling to over 10 million individuals globally.

An independent panel of judges will name winners in a number of categories, and one of the category winners as the overall Atlantic winner in Canada. That winner will then compete with winners from Québec, Ontario, Prairies and Pacific regions for the Canadian Entrepreneur Of The Year title. The Canadian winner will go on to compete with winners from more than 50 countries for the title of EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year, in June 2017. Past winners of the World Entrepreneur award include, Michael Dell (1989), Jeff Bezos (1997), Sergey Brin and Larry Page (2003), and Reid Hoffman (2011) just to name a few.

The Canadian Entrepreneur Of The Year program is in its 23rd year of recognizing, celebrating and telling the inspiring stories of the country’s most impressive entrepreneurs from all areas of business and different stages of their entrepreneurial journey.

The Atlantic winners will be announced at a gala in Halifax on 6 October 2016.
